Kentucky Bluegrass

Used throughout the United States, Kentucky bluegrass is the most widely used cool season grass, often found on golf courses, athletic fields, home lawns and parks. It spreads through the development of rhizomes (underground runners) and has good heat and cold tolerance.

Kentucky bluegrass tolerates a wide range of mowing heights (from 0.5" to 3"), requires only moderate fertilization and water and has a root system that may grow as deep as 1.5', providing a dense stand of turf that is able to withstand pressure from weeds.
